Over the last 15 years or so the health craze that has swept the nation has made it sometimes seem that it is raining treadmills. The sheer number of different brands and models has reached staggering proportions and shows no sign of slowing anytime soon. So what is a person to do if they want a good treadmill? Well a good place to start looking is among the Proform line of treadmills. The Proform 540 Treadmill is a great place to start your search. The Proform Company is one of the largest fitness companies in the world and they are very popular for some very good reasons in both the United States and Canada. The Proform 540 Treadmill is a great starter treadmill with retail of slightly under $800 and it is a decent machine for the money. The Proform 540 Treadmill is a fairly heavy duty treadmill and comes with a 2.75 hp motor that not only lasts a long time but allows you to move at 10mph and provides an angle of up to 10 degrees. Proform also offers a great 10 year warranty on the motor, which is unprecedented in the industry. Unfortunately the rest of the machine only has a 90 day warranty which can be a major detraction for many potential buyers.
The Pro form 540 treadmill is fully equipped with a great air cooling system that will really keep the runner as cool as possible and get a full run without over sweating. This model is also compatible with iFit and you can add it straight from your computer because this model comes with a ready USB port. The motor is almost silent, allowing you to watch television or listen to music while you’re run without distractions, or disturb others in the home. One of the great things about this treadmill is that you can buy it for less than $600 and shipping, inside the United States, is free.
Since this is a new model of Pro form treadmill there have not been a lot of reviews on it. If you actually go to a store and look at this treadmill however it is immediately obvious that it is made from the best materials. The 540 does not have a great warranty however so you will have to pay for new parts every now and then. If you are a home user this will not be a real issue. If you are a regular user or a professional who spends many hours every day on the treadmill this is definitely not the treadmill for you. It was not designed for the heavy use that a pro runner will put to it.
